If you are interested in taking the Fur Harvest, Fur Management and Conservation Course, find and contact an instructor in your area (see chart below) and get your name on the list for their next course! You can also use our interactive map to find the city that your instructor resides in (see map below). Please note that courses are held by demand, on the basis of instructors having enough fur on hand for skinning demonstrations and hands-on work by students, and are run during a certain time of the year. Trapping seasons run from fall to spring, but courses are most prevalent in late winter/early spring when instructors have trapped a large extent of the fur they require to have on hand for the course to run.
If you are interested in becoming an instructor, click HERE. Fill out the form and then submit it to our office! New instructors are chosen based on certain criteria via the application, as well as demand in an area with sparse instructors present. While all applications will be accepted, not all candidates will be trained or appointed. Instructor training occurs on an as-needed basis and will not necessarily occur every year.
